When I was a kid, there was a large pond in my hometown - Ives Pond. It's long since filled in and become a soccer field, ending a long-established rite of youth that was the capture of hundreds or thousands at a time of pollywogs; tadpoles which we would keep in large flat tupperware style containers until their transformation was complete, and then release. Pollywogs kept in tupperware containers to grow up and end up who knows where. Fitting, no? :)
