Download your account data
This export contains your current account profile settings, linked providers, claims, roles, categories you own, notes you own, teams you created, and current team memberships.
Trackables, trackable groups, journey stops, access grants, comments, watch entries, support-request records, and in-scope image metadata connected to this shared account are included in the generated file as well.
Readable JSON and portable ZIP
Use the JSON when you only need the readable account record. Use the portable ZIP when you want a restore-friendly handoff package, and only add images when you really want the large image files in that package too.
The ZIP always keeps the full shared account manifest. Turn this on only when you also want the large image files for restore or cross-site transfer work. Export still keeps all settings and data in the manifest even when the current import path intentionally skips applying some of those settings.
Additive import avoids duplicates
When that import runs, Geotrackable checks matching categories and location notes by content rather than exported IDs. Identical matches are skipped, and matching records with different data are reported as skipped instead of being overwritten automatically.
During additive restore, mapped locations compare location plus title plus image set, while mapless location notes compare category path plus title plus image set. Matching titles or descriptions alone do not make a duplicate.
The portable ZIP is the handoff package for additive restore and cross-site transfer. It still keeps the full shared-account manifest even when the current import path intentionally leaves the target account settings unchanged.
Team data exports
Team exports stay separate from personal account exports because they include shared memberships, team-owned content, and team-level settings.
The website keeps team export as a separate JSON file so admins can review the shared record clearly. That same JSON can later feed the additive account-import path when someone needs to restore team-authored categories and location notes into personal scope without duplicating matching personal records.
During additive restore, mapped locations compare location plus title plus image set, while mapless location notes compare category path plus title plus image set. Matching titles or descriptions alone do not make a duplicate.
Matching team settings and memberships are still exported for recordkeeping, but they are not automatically applied onto the target personal account during that import.
Images and extracted image-location data
If you include images, the package carries only the large source files. The matching import flow re-screens them, skips anything that fails moderation, and rebuilds the smaller delivery sizes for the accepted files.
Uploaded images are screened before they are stored. After approval, Geotrackable processes them into managed JPEG variants used for thumbnails and page displays.
GPX waypoint files
GPX is the waypoint handoff format used by many GPS apps, mapping tools, and geocaching downloads. Use it when you want to exchange mapped locations with third-party tools instead of moving full shared-account data between LocationNotes and Geotrackable.
Geotrackable exports only full locations with saved coordinates. Quick Stops, deleted locations, and account-only travel history that is not a location note stay out of GPX.
Imported GPX waypoints become normal locations with coordinates. The import never overwrites an existing location. Matching title-plus-coordinate locations in the same personal or team scope are skipped and listed on the receipt instead.
Each imported waypoint becomes a normal location note, and the upload asks whether the new locations should land in your personal map or one of your teams and whether they should start Public or Private.

Use GPX for waypoint exchange with outside GPS or geocaching tools. Use JSON or ZIP when you need the fuller shared-account record.
